The Simpsons, More Realist than Ever!

  1. The Simpsons is the perfect critique of consumer culture. In every episode we are presented with the crude reality of everyday life. When we laugh, we admit to that truth and see ourselves portrayed by one of the many cartoon characters. This episode, however, was particularly obscure. Laughing would've been too cynical.

  2. The good thing about the Simpsons, I think, is the many layers it has. A 10 year old can enjoy it as something funny whereas a critic of consumer culture, political practices or the role of companies can also find something provocative in it.
I like the whole controversy this couch gag has generated.
And very good for Banksy too!
